He said with the development, business activities had picked up, compared to what it was some weeks back.

Adejobi said the police boss had earlier held a meeting with the Bankers Forum and the Police Community Relations Committee leaders on the security challenges and prolonged closure of banks in the area.

The bankers agreed to re-open their banks after the police commissioner released a brand new APC and two Nissan Hilux vans to aid the performance of the police.

He said, “The police commissioner, while appraising the security arrangement with his senior officers in his Eleweran office on Monday, reiterated his commitment to smooth operations of banks and other commercial activities in Ijebu Ode and its environs and Ogun State in general.

“He said that he will not accept or tolerate any security lapses from any police formation(s) or officers in Ijebu Ode and Ogun State at large.

“He, however, commended the Bankers Forum for the understanding and support given to the police on the issue, and re-opening of banks in the Ijebu areas for normal economic activities to commence.”
